Anxious Attachment

I don't care for how you'd think
So little of me, mother
I understand...
And my life's so much better

You raised me on, ‘Anxious Attachment”

Serving it hot with guilt
You led me on, with Anxious Attachment”

Serving it cold, like swill

When will you accept, my sense of 'self'
Differs from yours, mother?
Why do you reckon that even 'He'
Cuts the chord, The ALL knowing Father?

Were you raised on, Anxious Attachment”

Was it served hot with guilt?
Were you raised on, Anxious Attachment”
Was it served cold, like swill?

Now I don't really think we can kill our sense of selves

By ignoring it, Brothers and Sisters
You're You. I'm Me. We're subsets of Infinity

Not of each other

Do you do it, Anxious Attachment”?
Serving it hot with guilt
Do you do it,  Anxious Attachment”?

Serving it cold like swill

Do we do it, Anxious Attachment”?

Serving it hot with guilt
Do we do it, Anxious Attachment”?

Serving it cold like swill
